Your first 10 minutes

Tapeboard finds stocks that are moving, shows you why, and lets you practice trading them without risking money. The loop to learn first is scan, chart, alert, practice trade. This page walks through it once. Every new account starts with 7 days of Pro, no card.

How to create your account

1. Go to tapeboard.com and click Create one free.
2. Choose Continue with Google, or type your email and click Email me a sign-in link. Prefer a password? Click Use email + password instead, fill in your name, email and a password of at least 8 characters, and click Create account.
3. If you asked for a link, open the email and click it.
4. Follow the remaining sign-up steps. Your Dashboard opens when you finish.

How to take the tour and read the sidebar

1. The guided tour starts on the Dashboard. Follow the tips, or skip it.
2. Missed it? Open Settings → Preferences → Help and click Restart Tour.
3. Read the sidebar on the left. It has seven groups: Markets (Dashboard, Scanner, Charts, Heatmap, Movers, Halts, Watchlist), Screeners (Short squeeze, Delisting watch, Penny cockpit), Trade (Simulator, Journal, Academy), Research, Macro, Tools (Alerts and more) and Community.
4. On a phone the same pages sit behind the bottom bar. See Tapeboard on your phone.

How to find a stock worth watching

1. Click Scanner in the sidebar, or press ⌘2.
2. A scan called Momentum Now runs in the first panel. It lists the stocks moving fastest right now.
3. Click a row. The chart panels next to it switch to that stock.
4. Press W to add the highlighted stock to your watchlist.

Free accounts run one live panel and see the other scans as a preview. The full list is on Scanner.

How to open its chart

1. With a stock selected, press Enter to open it on the Charts page.
2. Pick a timeframe along the top of the chart.
3. To look deeper, press ⌘4 to open its AI research page.

How to set an alert

1. Click Alerts under Tools in the sidebar.
2. In Add Alert, type the ticker. Or click a starter such as Big move, Breakout or Volume spike to fill in a sensible setup.
3. Choose the alert type, enter the price or number, and pick how often it should fire.
4. Click Create Alert.

How to place your first practice trade

1. Click Simulator in the sidebar, or press ⌘6. You start with $25,000 of practice money.
2. Type your ticker in the search box.
3. In the order ticket, choose a size such as 100. The ticket starts as a limit order at the current price. Click Buy.
4. Your position shows in the list. When you are ready, click Flatten to close it.
5. The closed trade is saved to your Journal on its own.

What your 7-day trial includes

1. During the trial you have every Pro feature: all scans, Level 2, the AI tools and unlimited alerts.
2. Locked features show an upgrade note. Settings → Billing shows how many trial days are left.
3. When the trial ends you move to Free. Nothing is charged, and nothing you made is deleted.

• Signed-in Free accounts see live prices. Only visitors who are not signed in see 15-minute delayed data.

If something doesn't work

• No sign-in email arrives: check spam, then click Resend link.
• Prices look frozen after hours: pre-market runs from 4:00 AM ET and after-hours to 8:00 PM ET. Outside those hours prices do not move.
