Install the Tapeboard app

Put Tapeboard on your phone's home screen or your computer's dock in under a minute. No app store, and it's the only way to get push alerts on iPhone.

Tapeboard installs straight from your browser. You get its own icon, it opens full screen without the browser bars, and on your phone it can send push alerts when your watchlist moves. There's nothing to download from an app store, and it updates itself.

Install on iPhone or iPad

  1. Open tapeboard.com in Safari. (Chrome on iPhone can't install web apps.)
  2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add. The Tapeboard icon appears on your home screen.
  5. Open Tapeboard from that icon from now on. Push alerts on iPhone only work in the installed app, not in a Safari tab.

Tapeboard also shows an Add Tapeboard to Home Screen banner in Safari after a few seconds, as a reminder of these steps.

Install on Android

  1. Open tapeboard.com in Chrome.
  2. When the Get alerts when your watchlist moves banner appears at the bottom, tap it and confirm Install. Tapeboard installs and asks to turn on push alerts in the same step.
  3. No banner? Tap Chrome's ⋮ menu at the top right, then Install app (on some phones it says Add to Home screen).
  4. Open Tapeboard from the new icon in your app drawer.

Install on a computer (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open tapeboard.com in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  2. Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar (a small monitor with a down arrow).
  3. Click Install. Tapeboard opens in its own window and gets an icon in your dock or taskbar.
  4. No icon? Open the browser menu and look for Install Tapeboard (Chrome keeps it under Cast, save, and share; Edge under Apps).

Turn on push alerts

Push alerts tell you when an alert fires or your watchlist moves, even when Tapeboard is closed.

  1. Open Tapeboard from the installed app, not a browser tab.
  2. Tap Enable push alerts when the banner appears, then Allow when your phone asks.
  3. Missed the banner? Go to Settings → Alerts → Push notifications and turn it on there.
  4. Set the alerts you want in Alerts. Push, email and in-app delivery can be chosen per alert.

Shortcuts

Press and hold the Tapeboard icon (right-click it on a computer) to jump straight to Scanner, Charts or Dashboard.

If something doesn't work

  • No "Add to Home Screen" on iPhone: you're probably in Chrome or another app's built-in browser. Open the page in Safari.
  • Push alerts never arrive on iPhone: check you opened Tapeboard from the home screen icon, and that notifications for Tapeboard are allowed in iPhone Settings → Notifications.
  • You said no to notifications by mistake: re-allow them in your phone or browser settings for tapeboard.com, then turn push back on in Settings → Alerts → Push notifications.
  • Remove the app: delete it like any other app. Your account, watchlists and alerts stay on Tapeboard.
