Switch from Tradervue
Bring your Tradervue history into the Tapeboard journal with one CSV file. Your notes, tags and setups come across as you wrote them.
Moving journals usually means losing years of notes and tags. The Tapeboard import is built for Tradervue exports: your commentary and labels arrive intact and nothing is re-typed or guessed. Importing is free on every plan.
How to export from Tradervue
- Sign in to Tradervue and open your Trades view.
- Download your trades as a CSV file.
- Check that the Notes and Tags columns are in the file. Tradervue exports the columns visible in your Trades view, so show them first if they are missing. Your setups travel in Tags.
How to import into Tapeboard
- Open Journal in the sidebar.
- Click Import / Sync.
- In the box at the top, Switching from Tradervue?, click Upload CSV file and choose your export.
- Tapeboard recognizes the layout on its own. Your trades appear in the log with notes, tags and setups as you wrote them.
Import again at any time. Each row is fingerprinted, so trades you already imported are skipped and nothing counts twice. That includes trades a connected broker syncs later.
What comes across
- Notes: your full commentary on each trade.
- Tags: kept as separate tags. They drive the tag stats in your analytics, and setups come across the same way.
- Prices, shares, side and commissions: mapped straight over. Long or short is read from the side column.
What is different
- Tradervue exports one row per completed trade, so you see the round trip and not each partial fill. For fills, connect a broker in the same Import / Sync window. See Import Interactive Brokers history.
- Once imported, a trade gets everything Tapeboard tracks: R-multiple, best and worst excursion, exit efficiency, performance by setup, and the Tape Score on the Journal dashboard.
- Add a stop-loss to imported trades to unlock the R-multiple stats. Exports do not carry stops.
Good to know
- Free accounts import everything. The analytics on Free use a sample of your 10 most recent trades, and Pro unlocks unlimited history and the reports. See Pricing.
- The same window also reads exports from Schwab, Fidelity, Webull, Robinhood, DAS, Sterling, TradeStation and tastytrade.
If something doesn't work
- Notes or tags are missing: they were not in your export. Show those columns in Tradervue, export again and re-import. Duplicates are skipped, so it is safe.
- The file is not recognized: Tapeboard opens a column-mapping screen so you can match the columns yourself.
- Trades look duplicated: they should not. Email support@tapeboard.com with the file name and Marcus will check.
