Watchlist

Keep the stocks you follow in one place with live prices, notes and color tags. Try a list with no account, then save it to keep it.

A watchlist is your own short list of stocks. Tapeboard uses it to show live prices, to decide whose halts and news to alert you about, and to power your dashboard. You can build one without an account, and save it when you are ready.

How to build a list with no account

  1. Click Watchlist in the left menu. On a phone, tap Watchlist in the bottom bar.
  2. Click the box that says Add stock, crypto, or FX... and type a ticker such as NVDA.
  3. Pick it from the drop-down. The row appears with a live price and % change.
  4. Add more. Stocks, crypto and currency pairs can share one list.
  5. To start from a template, click Try this watchlist on a starter card.

A list built without an account lives in your browser tab. It holds up to 50 tickers and disappears when you close the tab.

How to save a list

  1. Click Save this watchlist.
  2. Enter an email and password and confirm the 18+ and terms box. This creates your account.
  3. You come back to the same list, now kept on your account and on every device.

If you are already logged in, your quick list is added to your account.

How to create and switch lists

  1. Once you have a saved list, your lists appear as tabs with their ticker counts.
  2. Click a tab to switch.
  3. Use + New list to create one, Rename to rename the active list, and Clear all to empty it. You can delete a list only when you have at least 2.

How to add many tickers at once

  1. Click the import button in the list bar.
  2. Paste tickers separated by commas, spaces or new lines, for example *AAPL, MSFT, NVDA*.
  3. Choose to add them to an existing list or create a new one.

How to add notes and color tags

  1. On a saved list, click the pencil on a row and type a note, such as your entry plan. Saved notes show under the row.
  2. Click the small dot beside a symbol to pick a color: green, amber, red, blue, purple or slate.

How lists are used elsewhere

  • Halts: a stock on your watchlist triggers a halt card in the scanner and halt alerts in your notifications. See Halts.
  • Scanner: add the Watchlist panel from the Add menu, or right-click a scanner row and choose Add to Watchlist. On a phone, tap + WATCHLIST on a card.
  • Alerts and news: turn on the watchlist rows in Settings, then Notifications.

How to export a list (Terminal)

Terminal accounts see a download icon in the watchlist panel that saves the list as a CSV file. Other plans do not have it.

If something doesn't work

  • My list vanished: it was a quick list that was never saved. Save it next time.
  • A ticker was ignored: use 1 to 10 letters, digits, dots or hyphens, such as BRK.B.
  • Quote unavailable: the price lookup failed for that row. Reload to retry.
  • The add was refused: you have reached your plan's limit.
