Scanner presets
All 44 ready-made scans, grouped by trading style, with the exact rules each one uses. Learn how to pick one, search for one, and save your own.
A preset is a saved set of rules that turns the whole market into a short list. Momentum Now is free on every account. Pro adds all the rest. This page lists every scan and the rules behind it, so you can pick the one that matches how you trade.

How to pick a scan
- Click the scan name at the top of a panel, for example TOP_GAINERS.
- Scroll the list. The groups are Momentum & Gappers, Bearish & Shorts, Volume-Based, Price Action & Technicals, Market Cap Specific and Specialty Scanners.
- Click a scan. The panel switches at once and the hit count updates.
- With a panel focused, press ] for the next scan or [ for the previous one.
- On a phone, tap More at the end of the scan tabs to open All Presets.
On a Free account, scans other than Momentum Now show a lock and the note Free preview.
How to find a scan by typing (phone)
- Tap More, then click the search box.
- Type a word such as *bullish*, *gap down*, *low float* or *cheap*. Words like *bullish*, *bearish*, *long*, *short* and *gappers* match scans by intent, not only by name.
- Tap a scan to load it into the active tab.
How to save your own scan
- Click Scanner only, then Advanced filters. Set the boxes you want.
- Type a name into Scan name and click Save.
- Open the scan list again. Your scan sits at the top under MY SCANS. Click the X beside it to delete it.
- Saved scans sync to your account when you are logged in.
Another way is the Custom Scanner panel, added from the Add menu. It has a filter builder, a box that reads a sentence such as *US stocks below $5 above $1, rvol 200%, float below 15M*, and a Saved Scanners list. Plain-English input is a Pro feature.
What each scan looks for
Every scan below also needs a price of at least $1, except Penny Stock Movers and Sub-$1 Runners. "Gap" means the move from yesterday's close. RVOL is volume compared with normal for the time of day.

How to read and add columns
- Click a column heading to sort. Click again to reverse.
- Click COLS in the panel header to tick optional columns: Catalyst, News, Bid / Ask, TYP PX dist %, ATR (14), HOD dist %, Vol spike 5m, Momentum 5m, RSI (14), Short Int %, Borrow Fee %, Squeeze Score and more.
- On a phone, tap the arrow on a card to see its volume, float and other stats.
TYP PX is the day's typical price, an average of high, low and last. It stands in for VWAP.
Good to know
- Some columns, such as short interest and squeeze score, only have values for heavily shorted stocks.
- Hover a symbol on a computer to see a quote card with volume, float, market cap, gap, sector and the latest headline.
- Presets rank stocks. They do not tell you what to buy.
If something doesn't work
- A scan shows very few rows: strict scans such as Pre-Market Runners often match a handful of stocks. Try Top Gainers or Unusual Volume.
- A premarket scan is empty: those scans need premarket volume, so they fill after 4:00 AM ET.
- You cannot delete a built-in scan: only scans under MY SCANS can be removed.
